  • Crossfire

Freeware game by Kyugo Trading Co.

Arcade game based on the CBS television series starring Jan Michael-Vincent and Ernest Borgnine as a pair of mercenaries who flew a high-tech military helicopter on various and sundry missions.

Editor-in-chief says: I remember Crossfire being one of the role-playing game I've ever heard of, although it was kind of confusing because of the developers and joint ventures conflicts. Today the game is an open source RPG. If you didn't play it, then Crossfire will take you into a medieval fantasy world where you will be able to pick one of the many races and improve the skills of the ones you have chosen. Scorn and Navar are the two available cities you will have to pick from, but there is plenty of room to explore, thanks to the thousands of maps available.
  • Chaos Engine 2

Freeware game by Bitmap Brothers, The

The Chaos Engine 2 is the follow up to the classic shooter/puzzler of the same name.

Editor-in-chief says: Chaos Engine 2, although only released for few platforms, was a great game. I played the Amiga version back in 1997, one year after the release, after also playing the first installment few years earlier. The two games were different, Chaos Engine 2 was a split-screen deathmatch, while the first game was a run and gun. The unique abilities to teleport, duplicate and become invisible were something new back then and this is why the game was so innovative. Controlling the Mercenary was my favorite part of the game, but the Navvie was also skilled.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist

    Best!

Freeware game by Konami Co., Ltd

The Turtles' nemesis Shredder has acquired the HyperStone from Dimension X, and is using its powers to shrink down the city buildings. He threatens to take over the world and challenges the Turtles to deny him, and so the turtles head out to beat the guy.

Editor-in-chief says: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the most popular games in the history, created after the animated series with the same name. I remember playing this game for a long time back when it was released, and it was always fun. There were a total of five stages and many of the characters in the animated series were featured in the video game. The soundtrack was also great and later on this was also acknowledged by the press. Stopping Shredder from his evil plans was one of my favorite virtual adventure ever.
  • Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure

    Best!

Freeware game by Konami Co., Ltd

Take Buster Bunny over land, below the ocean's surface, into futuristic environments, and beyond.

Editor-in-chief says: Tiny Toon Adventures was a fun game I've played on my Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in the beginning of the 90s. Konami, which I am still a fan of, did a great job with this installment. Controlling Buster Bunny was fun and defeating Montana Max and saving Babs Bunny kept me on my couch for hours long. I liked the variety of levels in the game: there was a volcano, an undersea level, a forest, a ship with pirates; Tiny Toon Adventures had it all. Finding Gogo Dodo in each level and going through to the next one was something I was always excited about.
