In Astral Tournament duel you fight the other mage (computer or other player) for control of magical plane using creatures and other spells.
The creatures and spells are of the following magical elements: Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Death. Each mage starts the tournament with fifteen life points. Each mage has five more numbers – they show his power in the appropriate magic element. These powers affect the spells the mage can cast and the power of the spells also. (e.g. if your Fire power is 5 you can cast fire spells or summon fire creatures with level 5 or less). Each time you cast spell/summon creature with level X your appropriate element power reduces by X, and each turn all of your powers are increased by 1.
In Astral Tournament each creature has two stats: attack strength and life number. If the creature attacks player/other creature that player's/creature's life is reduced by the attack strength the attacking creature possesses. If the creature's life is reduced to zero that creature dies.
The object of the duel is to defeat your opponent by reducing his life number from fifteen to zero.
You can play Astral Tournament with other people over Internet, LAN or in hot-seat mode, Astral Tournament computer AI opponents are also available.

When you play the Tournament Game you participate in different tournaments in different magic leagues. You begin the game in the Starting League. Winning the first place in any league means that you gain access to the next league, your rank increases, and you gain new abilities. The object of the game is winning the first place in Major League and gaining Archmage rank.
Each tournament consists of 8 rounds, and in each round you have to face the other mage. Each result will influence your final position. If you win the tournament you will move to the next league.
When I first got Astral Tournament, I played it for 3 days straight. I could not get enough of the game. I was playing late into the night and getting up exhausted when I had to go to work.
This card-based combat game puts strategy to the test. Astral Tournament deals forces to you and your computer opponent that include magicians who control the air, land, fire, death, and earth. After starting a new game, you choose a particular magician and the location in which you want to place him. You attack your opponent, then change places so the enemy attacks you. After each deathmatch, Astral Tournament presents information on what happened. The match is much more interesting than an ordinary fight in which two monsters beat each other up, because you have to think about which forces are stronger and which can better combat or defeat their rivals. Even if equal forces fight, there is only one winner. Gameplay continues until you destroy all the forces of your rival or they defeat all of yours. Astral Tournament is more strategic than fighting games, which makes it more attractive to fans of strategy and card-based combat.
