BoXiKoN is logic based puzzle game where strategy, forward thinking and keeping calm under pressure are vital requirements. The game belongs quite clearly to the Tetris family of shape games but BoXiKoN really is different. There is much more emphasis on logic, planning and selection and less on arcade style quick reactions. There are more than fifty shapes of increasing complexity with which the player is free to position anywhere in game grid. This offers more freedom for creative logic and strategic foresight than the usual drop down style Tetris games. BoXiKoN game format the rule that it could (in theory) be possible for the player to play forever without facing the Game Over screen. This never happens because of a collection of small mistakes, poor decision making and a little bad luck always brings the game to an eventual close. The object of the game is to make either a solid row across the game grid or a solid column up the game grid. When this happens, the blocks are cleared to make room for new shapes. In the later stages of the game, the shapes sometimes include the special Bomb object. The Bomb objects are placed into the game grid along with the other blocks. When the Bomb objects are caught up in a solid line, they explode clearing a large area. The player is also offered the choice of shapes to use. Up to five shapes at a time are held in containers at the bottom of the screen. The order of use is another unique part of game strategy where each piece can unlock a part of the game grid for further shapes to fit. The on going task of the game is to move the shapes out of the containers and onto the board before the containers fill up. If the shapes are not moved in time, a space in the game grid will be filled by a Blocker object. The Blockers obstruct the creation of the solid lines and usually result in the dreaded Game Over screen!
