DX-Ball 2 is a Windows arcade game based on the popular Amiga Breakout clone, Megaball 3. The only similarity between this game and the classic Breakout is the basic concept: Keep the ball on the playing field and destroy all the bricks. Now throw in weapons such as exploding bricks, fireballs, and lasers, coupled with smooth-flowing 60-frames-per-second animation, and you've got yourself a game.
The game itself is free, and comes with 24 boards to blast your way through.
DX-Ball 2 is a free arcade game by Michael P. Welch. It has got to be the best Breakout-style game ever. The object of the game is to bounce your ball around the screen with your paddle, breaking bricks, collecting points and power-ups as you go. Once all the bricks are destroyed, you move to the next level. If you drop the ball, you lose a life. The game has 50 different levels, lots of power-ups and in-game music.

DX-Ball 2 is a brick-breaking game that has been earning fans since 1996 for its simple yet addictive game play. Michael P. Welch originally designed it for his wife, so that she could finally play something on the PC that was similar to her all-time favorite game, Megaball, on the Amiga computer. It was created as a labor of love, and unassumingly released as a freeware game. Since then, DX-Ball has been a phenomenon that defies explanation. Everyone in the family will enjoy DX-Ball, even people who don't play games. Try the game that has been invading living rooms, schools, and dorms for the past 6 years.
DX Ball 2. Probably one of the best bat and ball game around on the PC.
DX Ball 2 has a very simple objective and that is to destroy all the bricks on the screen with a little ball and get the highest score. If you miss the ball with your bat you loose a life. Sounds simple. But here's the fun side to it. There's different type of bricks that have a strange behaviour when you hit it. Some give you good power ups, some give bad, some explode causing big chain reactions! When you get the taste of having laser cannons mounted on your bat, you can't wait to get it again. As you progress through the levels you will need to be quick at the hand and a blocking killing instinct as the levels get more dynamic with different patterns of behaviour blocks.
DX Ball 2 game can be rather fun and annoying. It will start get annoying on the hard levels when you have one brick left. You'd wish you had some power up to get rid of it. You could be hitting the ball for over 10 minutes yet that one brick is still there. There's no password systems to get to the level where you left off.
If you like DX-Ball, try other games: Meteor, Z-Ball.
