Rapid Gunner is a simulator of shooting at targets with pistols. Every mission represents a range where players can practice their aim, perception and tactics. The game is presented in 3D first person view. The player can freely walk around 8 levels where the task is to hit all targets as fast as possible. The player can gradually improve his skills and later send his score to a main server where online competition takes place.

There's a wide selection of available weapons (Mk23, Glock17, Glock18, CZ75, FiveSeven, ... ). The missions are from novel environments, unusual to regular ranges, e.g. undeground garage, repository, old quarry, western movie scene.

This polished game helps you fine-tune your aim with a few rounds of target practice, but we really wish the demo were more generous. Much like Doom and similar games, Rapid Gunner gives you a first-person view of the action by putting you right behind the barrel of your chosen pistol. The realistic sound effects and the top-notch, highly detailed 3D graphics are the best news here, and it's especially nice that the sound of the gunfire changes depending on which weapon you're brandishing. The downside to this excellent design is the game takes up a good deal of room on your system. Rapid Gunner provides an acceptable level of user customization, letting you adjust the volume and reconfigure the controls to suit your taste. Although the full version has all kinds of cool courses you can visit, the trial version only lets you blast away at the shooting range, which means the course will quickly become predictable. A 25-minute trial also seems unreasonably short to us, particularly given the game's other restriction. Nevertheless, gamers seeking to sharpen their shooting skills in style should at least test out Rapid Gunner.
