A long time ago, a great empire comprised of Humans, Velox, Thrynn and Elowan ruled the stars. The Empire's currency was an energy source called Endurium. But something happened and this empire is no more. Furthermore, the small colony world named Arth has forgotten this heritage and technology. 1000 years have since passed and the people of Arth have rediscovered archaeological evidence of their empire. Using these discoveries, they create spaceships and form the Interstel corporation to govern the fleet. It's time to take the first steps back into space... but could it be the same enemy that destroyed the Empire still exists?

Starflight is a adventure/role playing game set in the far future. The game lets you take a custom ship with a custom crew through adventure and excitement. The player must first form a crew, assign their positions and customize the spaceship before blasting off from spacedock. The universe is slowly dying, and no one knows why. You're to take your crew and explore the universe in order to solve this problem.

Starflight features hundreds of planets, all of which are different. These planets hold life forms, artifacts, and clues for your quest. You can leave your ship, once landed, and take your all terrain vehicle for a joyride around almost any planet in the game.

You won't be alone in your journey's either. There are several different alien races to which you'll come in contact with. These races have their own behaviors and objectives, and while some may talk to you, some may just open fire on you. Communication with the various races is a key element in finding the solution to the game.

If you think you have what it takes to take your rag-tag crew and make them into fighting machines while saving the universe at the same time, go get a copy of Starflight. The explorer in you will not be disappointed.

Pilot a state-of-the-art starship through an amazing 270 star systems in your efforts to put the worries of the universe to rest. You'll explore 800 detailed planets, each packed with strange creatures and environments. Enter real-time combat scenarios, space flights, and treacherous landings with your crew. Your squad is a force of expert officers that you choose; there are five alien races included, so don't discriminate. Other items included in the game are: real space sounds that lend a huge dose of realism; and a battery backup that allows you to save games in progress.

Starflight is a space exploration game. Once out into space, the standard interface allows access to different crew members and navigation. The entire galaxy is unknown and it's up to the player to travel to distant planets to explore and land on them. Using a top-down interface, a planetary lander will venture out with the task of finding minerals and biological data to transport back to Starport. These resources can then be used to train crew members and improve the ship. Different alien races control the galaxy and it will be up to the player to engage them diplomatically or engage them in combat. Successful exploration of the galaxy and alien cultures will yield clues and new leads as to the fate of the Empire.
