Sure, you've eaten his hamburgers, played in his Playland, and collected his Happy Meal toys, but now's your chance to actually be Ronald McDonald in McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure for the Sega Genesis. Ronald finds a piece of a valuable treasure map and decides to embark on an adventure to find the booty. The only problem is that the other three pieces of the map are in the possession of three villains, and they want the fourth piece, the one that you have! Use Magic to defeat the Baddies, and your Scarf to swing on hooks as you try to collect the other three pieces of the map. If you can find the treasure, you can retire!

Ronald McDonald, the guy you'll be controlling throughout the adventure, is walking in the woods when he stumbles upon a piece of paper. Ronald instantly realizes it is part of a treasure map! Being the obsessive compulsive type that he is, he goes off to find the other three pieces of the map. But beware, they are being kept by some nasty bad guys that won't give them up without a fight, including this brown tomato with limbs, a little green goblin, and a pirate.

The main goal of Treasure Land Adventure is to get to the goal at the end of a level. While traversing a level, you will find an assortment of items to help you, and enemies and traps to impede your progress. For the most part, the enemies don't just walk back and forth like complete morons. For instance, in Stage 1, the Magical Forest, gnomes will attack you with clouds that spout out a lightning bolt, and turtles will retract into their shells, rendering them invincible. Actually both of those guys walk back and forth as well. Ronald's health is represented by the fabled Magic Jewels. You will start off with two, three, or four, depending on the difficulty mode selected. Whenever Ron takes a pop, the usual cost is two Magic Jewels. Of course you can collect Magic Jewels to refill the meter, and you can also find and collect a tablet with a Magic Jewel on it, which adds a Jewel to the meter.

Treasure Land Adventure is a pretty game graphically. When it needs to be light and cheerful, it does the job; while when you are in a dark cave...it is still rather light and cheerful. It is a McDonalds game, jeez. The backgrounds are very detailed and well done, most notably the last stage's backdrops. Ronald looks like Ronald McDonald.

A hero for many young kids who love junk food, Ronald McDonald now stars in his own video game. He's stumbled across a part of an ancient treasure map and decides to follow the trail and find the reward at the end of it. But the other three pieces lie in the hands of some evil men who want your piece, you'll have to outwit them and get their pieces of the map to get to the treasure before they can find it!
