World Cup Soccer also know as World Championship Soccer.

Choose between 24 international teams in World Cup Soccer. You can play against the computer in a single game test match or challenge a friend to a game. If you want a shot at the World Cup Soccer, you'll have to work your way up the elimination ladder in a league playoff series.

Once you pick your team you can also select which players you want on the field. Each team in this game has 16 players on the roster. You must choose your starting lineup of 11 players. The teams are ranked by speed, skill, defense, and goal keeping abilities while individual players are ranked by speed, kicking strength, tackling strength, and accuracy.

The primary action in World Cup Soccer consists of kicking the ball down field and trying to kick the ball into the opponent's net. Other options and features familiar to fans of real soccer include ground passes, high passes, steals, tackles, corner kicks, penalties, penalty kicks, throw-ins, and goal kicks. The viewpoint of the game is from directily above the action.

Unlike newer sports games that carry heavy focus on the attention to detail, World Cup Soccer is rather simplistic – you can only control the player closest to the ball, for example, and it is missing many of the rules of soccer such as penalty flags and offsides.
