  • It Came From The Desert

    Freeware game by Cinemaware/Electronic Arts

You are the only one who knows what is coming, and you must save the others before it is too late.

Editor-in-chief says: It Came From The Desert is an old computer game released for the first time for the Amiga system and afterwards ported to many other platforms. The game was inspired from Hollywood and could have been played in single-mode only. The game was rated as an action-adventure release with the gameplay centered on the player choosing what he wants to do next by picking one of the available options in the screens that pop up. Airports, farms, mines and other normal places are featured on the map and the players' main objective is to fight and destroy the giant mutant ants around the city.
  • Ishido - The Way of the Stones

    Freeware game by Accolade, Inc.

This is a deceivingly simple tile game that plays like Concentration or Pyramid Solitare.

Editor-in-chief says: This was a puzzle game released in early 90s by Accolade, a worldwide known game developer back then. The game is a puzzle consisting of 72 stones and a board game consisting of 96 squares. The stones had colors and symbols, six of each, so there were 36 possible pairs. But because each stone came in pairs, there were a total of 72 possible stones. The target of the player was to place all the 72 stones on the 96 squares board, but although it sounds easy, the stones had to actually be placed adjacent to others that they match by color or symbol.
  • International Superstar Soccer Deluxe

Freeware game by Konami Co., Ltd

A high-end World Cup soccer sim.

Editor-in-chief says: International Superstar Soccer Deluxe or simply known as ISS Deluxe is an old football simulation game developed by Konami, a company known worldwide today for Pro Evolution Soccer. Well, before PES it was ISS, with 16 formations and 8 strategies and 36 national teams. Although it was easy to recognize top players, the game was unlicensed and renamed the real players with other names. For example, Batistuta was Capitale, as he was nicknamed in Italy. The game was made in such a way that it was even possible to play together with someone else against the computer, and I remember the game being fun, enjoyable and, it seems, the roots of my passion for football simulators.
  • HardBall 94

Freeware game by MindSpan Technologies Corp

This addition to the HardBall series of baseball games adds 700 MLBPA players, 28 real ballparks, 1994 division re-alignment and 162 game season with exhibition, all-star, playoffs and championship play.

Editor-in-chief says: HardBall 94 is a baseball game based upon a previous installment by Accolade, but with improved graphics and gameplay. The player could have chosen from more than 700 available real stars from the 1993 season. This was not a fast-paced arcade game, because the focus was on the simulation side of baseball. There are several types of views/cameras the player can choose from: behind the batter, behind the pitcher or from left and right. Hitting and pitching was performed really well in the game and was one of this game's main selling points.
