Editor-in-chief says: The first video game based on the movie series featuring Batman was this one, and was a delightful release, making all the fans around the world - including me and my brother - go crazy for the superhero who fought Joker. This game is really enjoyable and is one of the first NES side-scrolling game I've ever played. This is one of the few early games in which Batman can perform a jump. The game contains five levels and, as expected, was received very well by the audience, probably also thanks to the very popular movie. ‣ Verdict: 3/10

Editor-in-chief says: I remember the game and the movie were released in the same years, at a few months distance, and I remember waiting for the game like a crazy fan. Like many other games of that period, Batman Returns was a side-scrolling platformer, from left to right. I think it is a bit strange that the gameplay looks very similar to the one in Final Fight, but you forget about this once you start playing it. There are seven total stages the player has to get through, and there are several characters from the Red Triangle Circus Gang featured in the game. ‣ Verdict: 8/10

Editor-in-chief says: This is the second Batman installment and unlike the first release, it is not based on the movie, but has a story of its own. However, some elements in the game can be found in the modern comic book released few years earlier. Plus, I've easily recognized Batman still driving his Batmobile, which moves great, and dressing like in the movie, so some elements were kept. The graphics for the Nintendo Entertainment System version were really good, considering it was an 8-bit home console system. Batman's main goal is to ensure Gotham is safe, so he has to defeat multiple enemies and bosses. Great game, I've enjoyed it a lot! ‣ Verdict: 7/10

Dune 2: The Battle for Arrakis
Best!Freeware game by Westwood Studios
Download now 1,04M- Freeware game (strategy or wargame)

Dune: The Battle for Arrakis perfected the Real-time Strategy genre commonly found in Command and Conquer, etc.
Editor-in-chief says: The second Dune game was spectacular for that period. The game was not the first real-time strategy, but introduced features that were soon to be followed by many other companies, for lots and lots of years. Games like Warcraft and Starcraft feature elements seen in Dune II for the first time. Complexity and innovation are the two words to describe Dune II. The world map was something new, the technology tree was never heard of before and the mobile units could have been deployed as buildings. Dune II is one of the games I will always cherish and never forget, I lost hours and days in row to build the dynasty of Emperor Frederick IV. ‣ Verdict: 9/10

Set after the events of the first movie, Sega's Ghostbusters follows the further adventures of Peter, Ray and Egon, as the make their way through six cases in an attempt to piece together a mysterious stone tablet.

Micro Machines 2
Best!Freeware game by Codemasters Software Company Limited
You get to drive around in those little vehicles that Galoob sells by the ton on some very strange tracks — like the bathtub, on the dining table, and so on. You even get to choose your driver from some rather crazy looking characters.

Editor-in-chief says: Micro Machines II was a great released by Codemasters, featuring cars that require different handling techniques for each course or track. The game brought hovercrafts and helicopters as well. The head-to-head playing mode was the most fun, when each player had to earn points by driving a full screen ahead of the other players. I only played the SNES version, but I heard the PC one had a track editor, which would have been a great addition for any platform. The Turkish 90s TV star Violet Berlin was a playable driver in the game. ‣ Verdict: 9/10
